Nova School of Dentistry
Right in the middle of the 1960s when The Beatles were hitting the charts hard and the social revolution was beginning, Nova Southeastern University was being created in the peaceful city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It surely started as a tiny college but it grew tremendously over the years, until it added the Nova School of Dentistry and other departments. Despite the fact that Nova School of Dentistry was created quite recently in 1997, it has already shown that their students are totally capable of excelling in the field. Moreover, the faculty and the facility have gained the attention of students all over the world.
Background History on Nova
Nova Southeastern University was founded in 1964 under the name of Nova University of Advanced Technology in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The land where the university was located was purchased from a family by the name of Forman, and was used as a training camp for the U.S. Navy during WWII. After the war ended, the government promised the family that they would use the land to build a school, and that’s the reason why Nova Southeastern University was settled there.Just twenty years after its inauguration, the university had grown unexpectedly and decided to merge with Southeastern University for Health Sciences, hence receiving the new name that combined the names of both universities. In 1997, the board of directors decided that it was time to open Nova School of Dentistry, in order to service those students that wanted to make a career in the dentistry field.
